However, the unemployment rate is at an all-time high as a result of the epidemic. People who lost jobs due to Covid-19 cannot find new ones. As a result, everything has nearly come to a standstill in rural India.\r\n\r\nThe covid-19 pandemic is having a disproportionately high impact on rural India. Workers and daily wage labourers in villages are more likely to be jobless in this wave of Covid. He and his family live in Pamdeydih, a small village in rural Jharkhand.\r\n\r\nSince last year, Manju, the family\u2019s sole breadwinner, is home with no regular job and work. They do not have any capital and savings to fall back upon in these difficult times. His family of six, which includes four children and his wife, are forced to live in abject poverty. Manju and his family struggle to arrange for two square meals daily. In addition, his kids are all too young to be sent to work. In this scenario, they cannot afford hand sanitizer and masks to protect themselves from Covid.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nTen million workers lost jobs, including Manju, who had barely recovered from the impact of the first wave of Covid-19 when the country went into national lockdown in the second phase. These workers are trying hard to ensure that their families do not go hungry. But, when it comes to coping with the Covid wave, they are left highly unprepared to tackle the virus that has killed thousands of people across the globe.\r\n\r\nThe government has issued a set of recommendations for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/projectsantushti.org\/covid-relief\/\">management of covid<\/a> in rural India. Concerns about public health have prompted the government to make difficult choices between saving lives and sustaining livelihoods. There have been gaps in providing cash and in-kind support to society\u2019s weakest people. Several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and organizations have stepped forward to assist.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mongiagreen.org\/\"><strong>Mongia Green Foundation<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0assists these vulnerable communities in these trying times &#8211; COVID 19 comfort kits, home isolation kits, and vaccination awareness provided to families like Manju&#8217;s<strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0Both relief and rehabilitation efforts are required to assist those impacted in overcoming their losses and rebuilding their lives.
